Meehan's Public House Restaurant Review:

Meehan's bill of fare isn't a copy of the Irish pub playbook, but it does offer good interpretations of the food you would find in that country. We recommend the "Chip Shop Curry," which tops fried potatoes with a smooth curry sauce. Like most of the appetizers, it’s a dish to share and warms the heart on a cold day. Colcannon fritters are also well done, although we thought they should be made traditionally with cabbage and not kale. "Devils on Horseback" presents bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese. Other options speak local, such as the fried pickles and buttermilk-soaked chicken tenders. Guinness-braised lamb stew beats any we had in Ireland, and we've always had high regard for the shepherd's pie, made with lamb instead of beef. The classic Irish breakfast includes black-and-white pudding, a sure test of authenticity. Consider, too, bangers and mash as well as the soda bread. For dessert, hold out for the Jameson Irish Whiskey bread pudding. The libations list holds a raft of draft and bottled beers and a few fair wines, but the Irish and other whiskey list is the one to target. Other locations.
