THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mema's Cuisine Restaurant Review:

Mema’s exotic décor, extensive menu and good food aren’t immediately obvious from its setting in an unnamed strip mall off the main highway in Wailua. Just open the door, and the tantalizing smells promise a good meal ahead. The hardest part of eating at Mema’s is making a choice from the lengthy menu with its seemingly endless combinations of stir-fried meats and vegetables that blend Thai and Chinese ingredients. The garlic prawns with black bean sauce are a good bet, and the curries and noodle dishes are boldly Thai, prepared either hot, medium or mild (which is still pretty spicy). Vegetarians will be pleased with a broad choice of appetizers and main dishes. The specials, often featuring fresh local vegetables and fish, are invariably good. For dessert, try the warm, sweet black rice pudding and tapioca or one of the fresh-fruit specials. There’s a wide range of imported and domestic beers and a decent wine menu. Service is generally good, although it can be forgetful when the restaurant gets busy, which it usually is.
