This Indian eatery sits perched over Lexington Avenue at the top of a long staircase in a nondescript apartment building. Through its doors, however, is a world ablaze with color and Indian aromas. Businessmen and Bloomingdale's shoppers have discovered Agra’s friendly hospitality and intriguing flavor combinations in such authentic dishes as vegetable malai kofta, a winning combination of vegetables and almond sauce. For the carnivores, there’s chicken malay kebab marinated in cream cheese. For those who prefer to leave the decision making to the chef, Agra offers five inexpensive “Indian dinners” with appetizers, soup, condiments, main course and dessert.
