Back Bay Social Club Restaurant Review:
Swank, "Mad Men"-style Back Bay Social Club is located in the former Vinny T's space on Boylston Street. Gone are the red and white tablecloths; in their stead are plush red booths. Starters feature fried oysters with crispy cornmeal, duck pierogi, a cheese board and "meat candy" (kielbasa with brown sugar and pineapple). For dinner, we recommend The Social Burger, a juicy patty made with dry-aged prime rib, short rib and skirt steak, topped with aged cheddar and served with a side of golden fries. It comes with a high sticker price (over $20) but is worth every dime. Other mains include toasted gnocchi, shrimp and grits, and steak frites. "Jumbo" carrot cake is generous enough to be shared among four guests. There's a vibe-y patio for after-work schmoozing with a fruity fusion cocktail like the Cranberry Rosemary Smash.
