THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Bankers Hill Bar + Restaurant Restaurant Review:

From the moment we walked through the oversize door and saw the wall of succulents and tasteful décor, the vision of designer and fabricator Paul Basile and co-owner Terryl Gavre, we knew Bankers Hill would be a hit. A blend of neighborhood hangout and big city savvy, the energetic yet sexy low-lit setting entices both foodies and regulars. Chef and co-owner Carl Schroeder, of Market Restaurant + Bar fame, has created a compelling menu. Start with the deviled eggs with puff pastry Parmesan "cheese straws" on the side. Organic apricot jam comes on grilled levain bread with cherries, mustard greens and goat cheese. Schroeder's creations are artistic without being overly precious --- try the chili-marinated grilled shrimp jambalaya-style with andouille sausage and roasted peppers, or braised pork tacos. His pencil-thin crisp fries with truffle aïoli are a treat, so order the juicy burger as an excuse to have them. Wild boar meatballs nestle into creamy polenta, while hickory-smoked Duroc pork shares the plate with a tasty mushroom and leek bread pudding. Pastas are house-made. The wine list includes interesting boutique selections. Locals fill the bar for craft cocktails, hoppy IPAs and nibbles from the happy hour menu. Service is spot-on overall.
