Barley John's Brewpub Restaurant Review:
What every suburb needs is a great hangout that brews its own beer, and New Brighton has Barley John's. Transforming an old A&W into a dark wood and stained glass reinvention of an English pub has been a personal process for the owners, who custom-made the gorgeous maple bar. Their attention to detail and pride in ownership thankfully extends to the beers they brew on premises and the collection of Scottish whisky they have amassed. They close on Sundays so they can give their full attention to brewing the beer, which makes Monday everyone's favorite day to sample the fresh batch. The menu is comfortable with above average pub fare---burgers, chicken sandwiches and a grilled pizza or two. But they do run daily specials. The chef’s pasta of the day is worth a try.
