While the Italian-American Bertucci’s is a chain, it does show a bit of local personality depending on the neighborhood. There are few surprises on the pizza-and-pasta heavy menu, but if you stick with the budget-friendly brick-oven pizzas, you usually can’t go wrong. While you decide what to get, indulge with the all-you-can-eat rolls churned out warm from the kitchen, a favorite with kids. Crunchy pizza crusts can be topped with some tasty options, such as the Sporkie with sweet Italian sausage and ricotta or the Nolio white pizza with prosciutto and caramelized onions in a lemon pepper cream sauce. Standard entrées include baked penne, balsamic chicken, veal Parma and salmon Florentine. There is a gluten-free menu available as well. Classic tiramisu provides a happy ending. The less-than-adventurous menu doesn’t deter the families, students and even businessmen who make this place a habit.
