Bosphorous restaurant transports its guests to the exotic world of Turkish cuisine right on busy Park Avenue in Winter Park. The décor is classy, with white linen table tops and sharply dressed waitstaff. Mezes (appetizers) include freshly baked lavas bread, hollow, balloon-shaped and topped with toasted sesame seeds and served as an accompaniment to hummus or baba ghanouj. For a hot starter, try the sigara boregi, cigarette-shaped phyllo stuffed with feta cheese and parsley. The menu also boasts pides, Turkish-style pizza breads with cheese, like the lahmacun made with ground lamb blended with peppers and tomatoes. We recommend the beef tenderloin sis kebap, a platter of tender cubes of grilled beef with fragrant, fluffy rice and house-pickled cabbage and vegetables. Those who prefer a slightly spicier entrée can go for the chicken adana kebap, seasoned and grilled with garlic, hot peppers and parsley. The specialty dessert is baklava.
