Burtons Grill Restaurant Review:

If you sense the slick polish of a corporation here, you’re right. Burtons Grill is part of a burgeoning chain begun in New England by owners who spent decades at industry behemoths like Outback. But if you also feel a unique, independent spirit, you’ve nailed it again. It’s a small set of restaurants and each has some authority to tweak things to its neighbors’ liking, while putting a twist on traditional fare. Dishes are clever and creative and deliver layers of flavor. There are also layers of menus --- including gluten-sensitive, vegetarian and a {B} Choosy for kids. Offerings change seasonally, and much of the produce comes from local growers. The lunch/dinner menu includes sesame-crusted tuna (suitable for sharing), roasted beet salad with goat cheese, pan-roasted chicken with cider jus and mashed potatoes, lobster shrimp pasta and filet mignon with Worcestershire-herb butter. Of course, that’s if you can get past the tempting lineup of sandwiches and burgers spanning a classic cheeseburger to a black bean variety (with chipotle mayo, tomato jalapeño relish and guacamole). All make it difficult to leave room for Key lime pie or chocolate torte, but they’re definitely worth the effort.
