Sevilla Restaurant & Tapas Bar Restaurant Review:

Before the tapas craze hit the U.S., most of Café Sevilla’s patrons showed up for the live music and traditional flamenco dancers. But now that Spain’s favorite dishes are so popular, the menu is getting its due respect. Nibble on sweet dates stuffed with Cabrales blue cheese, or green mussels in olive oil and lemon with Serrano pepper salsa. The short ribs braised in red wine and accompanied by manchego mashed potatoes are another fine shared plate. We prefer to skip the obvious tourists’ choice of paella and enjoy the lemony chicken-fig brochette with a fruity sangría. Lobster and seafood bisque comes in a puffed pastry, while Basque rabbit stews in fresh rosemary, thyme and Rioja red wine sauce. Add to these recipes the dim lighting and sultry music, and it’s apparent that Café Sevilla is an ideal place for romance. Saturday night’s deal features a live show with flamenco guitar and dancers, along with a three-course meal and entrance to the nightclub.
