Candle Cafe ensures that no animal or animal products were used in the preparation of their inventive and tasty veggie-friendly cuisine. Light appetizers include a mezze plate with hummus, quinoa tabouli, lemon-date chutney and marinated olives, as well as flavorful salads, like one with citrus beets, baby arugula, pomegranate and a tahini dressing. Entrées are based on imaginative uses of tofu, tempeh and seitan (try the Cajun seitan sandwich). A chic design and friendly staff complement this upscale vegetarian-vegan paradise, but the decadent desserts definitely complete the experience – try the carrot cake with toasted coconut or the chocolate mousse pie.
