Cold Spring Tavern Restaurant Review:
Everyone likes the creaky wood floors at this 1886 stagecoach stop, which offers a weekly game-meat special in addition to charbroiled steaks, like a New York steak served with peppercorn sauce. Sautéed medallions of rabbit are prepared with wild mushrooms and brandy; New Zealand venison comes with a blackberry-Cabernet demi-glace. More commonplace fare includes burgers, meaty chili and barbecue sandwiches. Every dinner comes with freshly baked bread and soup or salad. In the daytime, the jukebox jams out the tunes, and bikers roar up for burgers and bluegrass. By night, the roaring fire and rustic Old West theme turn the place into a nostalgic, romantic little haven.
