Drew's Bayshore Bistro Restaurant Review:

The original Drew’s Bayshore Bistro, just a block away from its current digs, got beat up pretty bad by Superstorm Sandy, so much so that it was a complete loss. That didn’t stop chef-owner Andrew Araneo from rising out of the brine-soaked ruins. The new Drew’s is a reimagining of the old --- bigger, brighter and more comfortable, but the Louisiana and the Carolina-Georgia coast-inspired food is still imaginatively prepared and generously presented. Araneo is a Jersey boy but you’d never know it by the color of his roux. It’s the real deal. Find on the ever-changing menu dishes such as crab meunière, gumbo, shrimp and grits, crayfish, jambalaya and crawfish etouffée. Bistro fare hails from other locales with classics like Long Island duck and Rhode Island-style calamari, a hot and herbal appetizer made rich and lush with white wine and butter. Desserts are sweet and soothing, appropriate after a meal of highly seasoned food. Try the sundae made with Guinness ice cream, Jameson caramel and Baileys marshmallow.
