En Sushi Restaurant Review:

The first U.S. outpost of a Japanese restaurant chain, En Sushi proudly Americanizes traditional, Japanese fare. A good bet for a date or family dinner, all diners are made to feel welcome by the cheering sushi bar chefs and efficient waitstaff. Specialties combine Californian ingredients with Japanese flair, like sautéed mushrooms with a soy-citrus saké sauce; tuna, salmon and avocado tartare with wasabi mayonnaise; and grilled green mussels. Whimsical twists appear on the standard martini menu, such as the "sumo," made with vodka and saké, garnished with ginger. Though there is a large selection of sushi and sashimi, we like the cooked dishes as well, especially the ones that can be hard to find at your typical L.A. sushi bar, including a crunchy lobster roll and a gingered rib-eye steak. The setting involves a long space filled with dark wood and flattering light.
