Fury's Restaurant Review:

Nothing much has changed at Fury’s over the past 30-plus years, and that is entirely by design. This nondescript yet consistently good neighborhood restaurant is tucked into a strip center. The pair of dining rooms fills with regulars, and the menu lists the same standards found at dozens of other casual seafood eateries scattered in and around New Orleans. Standout dishes include the fried trout amandine that more expensive restaurants could copy; a broiled, seafood-stuffed flounder that is no embarrassment; and a mound of fried onion rings. There are several respectable specials every day. Our recommendation: Go on Friday for the soft-shell crab amandine when they are in season, or stop in on Mondays for a crispy fried catfish lunch or dinner. Bread pudding and cheesecake are the only desserts. A few wines are offered, mostly standard brands, but customers may bring their own (corkage fee $10).
