The Gladly Restaurant Review:
Chef Bernie Kantak first rose to Valley fame at Scottsdale’s Cowboy Ciao, and at this eatery of his own, he’s proving that he’s got the chops to rock it. As a follow-up to his other popular restaurant, Citizen Public House of Scottsdale, the contemporary urban space welcomes a hip crowd in the open dining room brightened by floor-to-ceiling windows and boisterous with a centerpiece bar stocked with lots of wines, beers and more than 200 whiskies. Servers are stylish, easygoing and quick to deliver the globally-inspired New American dishes, which zigzag from “The Pigstrami” sandwich (think good, bacon-y fat) and duck meatloaf to scallops over sweet corn grits and a plate of chilled Turkish Isot chile tuna. Desserts are inventive, as well; we're especially partial to the peach cobbler made with cornmeal cake.
