Green Leaf Vietnamese Restaurant Restaurant Review:
One must walk down steps to enter into a delightfully dim, cavernous space in the basement of a historic building to get to this fancier-than-most Vietnamese place. Unlike its smaller sibling this upscale version has a water feature and a 50s-style bamboo bar and lounge that serves libations into the wee hours. Fresh with bright flavors and quality ingredients, the menu includes starters such as salad rolls filled with shrimp and pork, and Vietnamese-style pancakes made of crispy rice flour with a touch of coconut and holding pork, shrimp and crunchy bean sprouts. Other favorites are pho, cabbage salad with duck and the vermicelli bowls. Finish with the grilled banana cake swimming in a pool of coconut milk. Service is warm and professional.
