Happy Family Vegetarian Restaurant Restaurant Review:
This Rowland Heights branch of Happy Family serves vegan, macrobiotic dishes with culinary ingenuity. Happy Family has celebrated the versatility of soy products since 1981. The “fish” looks like fish, and the beef is hard to tell apart from the real thing. Sample your favorite Chinese dishes done with a vegetarian twist --- that is, few look and taste like what they actually are: vegetables. The menu is dozens of items deep, including basil kidney and shrimp with asparagus, house tofu with black bean sauce, and mustard green noodle soup. Dessert involves steamed sweet taro or rice sticks. The beverage selection includes tea, OJ and beer.
