Haven Brothers Diner Restaurant Review:

Founded in 1888, Haven Brothers Diner is well known --- there's even a movie about it. But don’t go expecting fancy digs or culinary fireworks: This hot-spot is housed in a 90-year-old silver truck that pulls up on downtown’s Fulton Street (right next to City Hall) at 5 p.m. six nights a week and stays until 4 a.m. You can also find it on Spruce Street in the Federal Hill neighborhood from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fans crowd in for killer hot dogs, baked beans, cheese fries, burgers (including the “all-the-way” double-decker burger) and the ultimate Rhode Island specialty: coffee milk. Arrive early if you want to snare one of the few coveted stools inside, although they set up some plastic tables and chairs outside, too, a welcome, if impermanent, concession to comfort.
