Hen of the Wood Restaurant Review:

Hen of the Wood has relocated from its 19th-century grist mill to a nearby location with an open kitchen, large patio, downstairs bar and a private dining room. Founder Eric Warnstedt subscribes to Vermont's locavore mantra, sourcing meats and produce from nearby farms. Warnstedt uses Vermont beer, cheeses and produce. The Hen's wine collection focuses on organic, small, family-owned producers from California, Oregon, Italy, France and Austria. The daily-changing menu might feature small plates like hen of the woods mushroom toast on grilled bread with house bacon and a poached egg, and larger offerings such as duck breast with crushed carrot, kale and pickled blueberries. Hen of the Wood has a second location in Burlington.
