Hiro Japanese Restaurant Restaurant Review:

In 1983, Hiroshi Shigetomi came from Yamaguchi, Japan, with a cousin and opened Hiro (now under different ownership), helping to start the sushi boom in Miami. The décor is a bit dated with a pink neon-lit bar, black lacquer finishes and orchid murals but is still inviting. The menu is extensive with consistently fresh fish served as sushi and sashimi and in rolls. Other choices include yakitori skewers, ramen, tempura and broiled lobster tails with garlic butter, and steak served with miso soup, salad and rice. Night owls and off-duty chefs flock here when other restaurants are closed. Best to stick with Japanese beer or saké as the lychee martinis are cloying.
