The Hobee's chain, spread far and wide through the Silicon Valley, is a top breakfast and lunch destination for single techies and families. The look is country kitchen with wood tables and flouncy curtains. A pot of coffee or tea appears as soon as you're seated. Breakfasts consist of blueberry coffeecake, scrambles, omelets and hash browns topped with everything from ham and cheddar cheese to guacamole and sour cream. For lunch, you'll find sandwiches, burgers, quesadillas, a salad and soup bar, and black-bean chili with the works.
