A sunny, semi-contemporary breakfast house in the shadow of hospital row, the place has earned its good reputation by offering loads of value for pre-dinner nibblers. The breakfast menu is the main draw, featuring everything from the namesake flapjacks to delicious waffles, crêpes, swollen slabs of french toast and standard egg & meat dishes. We love the complimentary pre-meal mini cinnamon buns. Hospital staffers and visitors, neighbors and office types make up the bustling lunch crowds that fill up on more breakfast fare, sandwiches, meatloaf and other genuine comfort foods. The house desserts are sometimes exceptional, the perfect match for good old-fashioned Colombian coffee or a short cup of specialty brew. All-in-all Hotcakes is a Denver landmark.
