Hummus Place Restaurant Review:
Competing with dozens of other restaurants that flank this colorful street, Hummus Place manages to live up to its name. The five-table eatery specializes in---you guessed it---hummus. The hummus fava, a fava bean stew with aromatic olive oil and a sliced hard-boiled egg in the center, is a meal in itself; the hummus tahini includes olives oil and spices, good with pita bread and pickles. The non-hummus shakshuka, a tomato and vegetable stew served with eggs and halumi cheese, manages to be hearty and light at the same time. Save some room for homemade date cookies or sweet, syrupy baklava.
