Irma's Southwest Grill Restaurant Review:
This offshoot of the fabled Irma’s is run by Irma Galvan’s son Louis Galvan and operates on the same premise, that of good, old-style Tex-Mex for breakfast and lunch (the place only opens for dinner on Astros game days). The main difference between the two restaurants is that Irma’s Southwest Grill has a hip, industrial chic atmosphere illuminated with tiny bulbs hanging from a ceiling of exposed ductwork. Expect decent guacamole and chili con queso with hot tortilla chips. Do try the combo #1 plate, as it comes with a shrimp taco, chicken enchilada and Mexican rice. Not in the mood for Tex-Mex? Try the Kobe beef burger. Homemade desserts and Irma’s famous bottomless lemonade round out the meal.
