Kai Zan Restaurant Review:
This Japanese hot-spot from brothers Melvin and Carlo Vizconde delights with an array of sushi, noodle dishes and teppanyaki grill items cooked atop cast-iron plates. But it’s not your typical menu, especially when you try out the adventurous omakase menu, a steal at $50 per person. Look to options like the “Orange Rush” (salmon-wrapped scallops) and avocado-wrapped shrimp tempura whenever they’re available. Remember to BYO and that there's a 90-minute time limit for two-tops and two-hour time limit for tables that seat four to six.
