Kreuz Market Restaurant Review:
Kreuz Market’s oak-fired pits produce meats worth the 30 to 40 minute drive south of Austin. Fleshy brisket is amazingly tender; the homemade course-ground sausage is spicy and garlicky; and the smoked pork chop rivals any rib around. Don’t ask for barbecue sauce because the joint doesn't make it (and will claim the well-seasoned meat doesn’t need it). Optional garnishes of avocado, yellow cheese and onion slices are as quirky as ever. The cavernous interior, replete with 1950s Americana, is a bit spooky when it's not filled with locals clamoring for barbecue lunches, so dine in large parties or go during peak times to stave off loneliness.
