THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Krog Bar Restaurant Review:

The old Atlanta Stove Works plant shelters chef Kevin Rathbun's eponymous restaurant. But on the grounds is a tiny structure housing a progressive and adventurous wine bar, named for the street on which the complex is located. A trip to Spain inspired Rathbun to open the place, which specializes in small plates (tapas) to pair with the wines. Supposedly the cuisine is Spanish, although the menu and the language slide into Italian about halfway through, somewhat blurring the original concept. Still, most cheeses are from Spain, and many of the cured meats are as well. Most dishes are not cooked; exceptions include seared duck breast with fig, which captures the flavors of an ancient Catalan dish with Roman roots. The wine list is driven by discovery mode. Don't expect the usual suspects. Red wines are likely to be served too warm, so ask that they be cooled just a notch for maximum pleasure. A corkage fee ($30) is charged for any bottles patrons bring in from outside. The best seating may well be the upholstered banquettes lining the outdoor patio --- comfortable (the stools inside are not) and conversation-inviting (the blaring, pulsating "music" inside is not).
