La Parrilla Restaurant Review:
When you order guacamole at La Parrilla, a cart is rolled to your table and the guacamole is prepared in front of you with great fanfare. Queso fundido (cheese on fire) is also memorable, especially when you order it with spicy chorizo. For a real treat, spoon the cheese into the warm, pleasantly chewy house-made tortillas. As good as these starters are, they are only a prologue to the real specialty: flavorful grilled meats such as carne asada and tripe served on sizzling mortars or miniature barbecues. Mellow charro beans are accented with chorizo, ham and grilled onions. Other specialties include cactus nopalitos stuffed with shrimp and served with a green sauce, and chicken with pumpkin seeds. To drink, find a selection of Mexican beers, margaritas and tequilas.
