Hearty fare in a bistro-like setting.
Laughlin's Beef & Barrel Restaurant Review:
Located in Buffalo’s theater district, Laughlin's has been remodeled to achieve an intimate dining ambience. The long bar is lined with large comfortable leather stools, making it an appealing dining area. However, dining on the second level offers a bit more privacy and quiet. Appetizers include banana peppers filled with a combination of cheeses that mediate the peppers’ high heat. The lunch menu consists of simple sandwiches and salads that are given a little extra finesse. A standout is the Philly cheese chicken sandwich made with chopped chicken laced with minced peppers and onions and then covered in a “secret” sauce. The dinner menu includes entrées such as an aged 20-ounce bone-in rib-eye that's been rubbed with Laughlin’s own spice mix. To put it over the top, the kitchen adds freshly dipped and battered onion rings. Keep Laughlin's on your list as a place to grab a bite before seeing a show at Shea's, which is within walking distance.
