Located in a lively corner of Glendale, this neighborhood wine bar features a cozy interior beautified by original, ever-changing fine art. Sit at the downstairs bar for a view of the open kitchen or enjoy the nightly live music on the couches upstairs. Owner Rachelle Ryan has handpicked more than 500 eclectic wines---125 of which are available by the glass---along with 70 bottled beers. The wine selection ranges from California boutique wineries to French and Italian labels, with options like Hewitt Cabernet Sauvignon and the 1996 vintage of Chateau Pontet-Canet Pauillac. Start off with a crispy flatbread pizza with mozzarella and prosciutto or compose your own plates of cheese and charcuterie. Salads, sausages and sandwiches made with baguette or ciabatta round out the menu---just be sure to leave room for the Chocolate Amore gelato paired with an Opolo Late Harvest Zinfandel. Diners can purchase bottles of wine to-go at a 20 percent discount in case they discover a new favorite.
