Hidden among the houses in the hills of Truckee, The Lodge Restaurant & Pub was a challenge for diners to find when it first opened. But these days it enjoys a cohort of regulars and seasonal customers drawn to traditional bistro-style offerings with Pacific Rim and French influences. Classics include sharp white cheddar and chèvre gratin macaroni and cheese, grilled and stuffed Black Mission figs, flat-iron steak and crispy roasted duck breast. Unlike so many Cal-centric Tahoe lists, The Lodge’s wine collection features an international scope. Look for Bordeaux and Barbera nicely priced at less than $50.
