Friendly and fun, this Southern soul food restaurant is a standout among many in New York City, which accounts for its big crowds and many regulars. Tuxedoed waiters serve extra-crunchy fried chicken (best with waffles), blackened catfish, tender pork chops, and buttery macaroni and cheese that are all prepared so much more thoughtfully than the competition. Add in live jazz on Friday and Saturday nights and you've got the new Harlem renaissance in a tasty nutshell.
