Mandarin House Restaurant Review:
Wei Ming Shen's downtown Windsor restaurant doesn't offer much in décor or amenities, but it does have out-of-the-ordinary Cantonese and Szechwan dishes that appeal to those who desire authentic Chinese food. Specialties include lobster chopped into accessible pieces and served with ginger and green onions or doused with black bean sauce. Guests will also enjoy the salt-baked shrimp with chilies, as well as the eggplant with minced pork and garlic sauce. Soups are varied and include hot-and-sour, fish maw and crab meat, seafood and bean curd, and pork and watercress. The extensive menu features, in addition to traditionally prepared noodle, chicken, beef and pork dishes, several interesting hot pot selections and chicken with salted fish and tofu. This is an affordable experience.
