Marco's Cafe & Espresso Bar Restaurant Review:
Umbrellas may hang from the ceiling of this restaurant in one of Portland's suburbs, but the inviting, airy dining rooms seem sunny even on gloomy, gray days. The menu is eclectic with brunch the most popular meal. Breakfast options range from homemade granola to various Benedicts, including salmon, andouille sausage, or bacon and avocado. Lunches lean toward sandwiches and generous salads, including interesting combinations such as the Sunshine Salad (dried cherries, beets, avocado, tomato, red onion, almonds, Asiago cheese and mixed greens in a citrus dressing). Dinner specials run the gamut from creamy chipotle pork to an heirloom tomato melt and lamb mulligatawny. Along with seasonal dishes, tasty meatloaf, fish ‘n’ chips and Hungarian chicken are always on the menu. Vegan and gluten-free diners have plenty of choices. Kid-friendly fare (pasta, chicken piccata) is part of the regular menu, plus there's a dedicated children's menu with organic burgers and grilled cheese. While waiting for their meal, kids may play with crayons and coloring books. Homemade desserts beckon from a glass display case. A nice wine list focusing on small Oregon producers will complement any meal.
