Marta Restaurant Review:

Walk through the doors of The Redbury New York and you’re practically inside Marta, a Roman-style pizzeria from Danny Meyer. Few restaurateurs could get away with having a successful restaurant off the lobby of a hotel in New York City. But this is Danny Meyer, after all. Marta looks to challenge the hegemony of the Neapolitan pie that took the Big Apple by storm starting around 2008. The cracker-thin Roman-style pizzas are very good and less filling than their brethren from the south. Tomato sauce is ultra-tangy and ingredients topnotch. There are also some non-pie options, including creamy potato-and-mortadella-spiked croquettes, an octopus salad paired with fava beans, and a fritto misto di mare. For dessert, you'll find tiramisu, a buckwheat tart and a few flavors of gelato. Wine, naturally, leans toward Italy with several options on tap.
