Mignon Restaurant Review:
This charming French bistro in steakhouse-saturated Dallas is smack-dab in the middle of a northern area that was nothing but fields a few years ago. The interior cossets, with curved wooden room dividers, muted velvet draperies and a couple of nicely placed booths for romantic dining. Even when the weather turns Texas hot, patrons may still enjoy the spacious patio overlooking a man-made lake. Look for topnotch pommes frites and steak au poivre along with a few American favorites like Mignon’s take on the wedge salad, a crisp wedge of iceberg with little treats like pickled shallots and a homemade blue cheese dressing that leaves the stuff from the jar way behind. If you dare, end the evening with a serving of the decadent pecan ice cream profiteroles topped with hot fudge.
