This establishment's walls bear mementos of Mississippi life through fishing and riverboat photos. Down-home food is served in baskets on vinyl tablecloths---so nothing fancy, but service is fast and friendly. The zippy barbecue sauce on either baby-back ribs or pulled pork is less cloyingly sweet than some. The "sweets" in the place's name, thin slices of sweet potato, curl up when fried into irresistible chips that complement 'cue so well one wonders why they're not classics at every barbecue joint. The baked beans are not only savory, but smoky too. With a bow to Florida, the made-on-the-premises Key lime pie is intensely tart and yellow, as it should be. Also located at 2399 N.
