Mtskheta Restaurant Review:
Don’t bother trying to pronounce the name of this Georgian restaurant in Gravesend, Brooklyn. Besides, you may have to spend your energy figuring out what exactly is on the menu. Popular with locals who originally hail from this former Soviet republic and with Manhattan foodies who cab here in large groups, Mtskheta is a meaty delight. The khinkali are similar to Shanghai soup dumplings: a pastry-like exterior gives way to ground pork and a savory sauce. There are also very good and garlicky sausages, fresh bread topped with walnut sauce, tender lamb ribs, and variations on the theme of kebab. The restaurant is BYO, so come with a bottle or two of sweet Georgian wine in hand.
