The Mucky Duck Restaurant Review:

The British are a people full of tradition, and this venue certainly has that. The building dates back to the 1930s when there was a tearoom at this site. The restaurant opened in 1976 although the building itself has had to retreat from the encroaching Gulf of Mexico waters. One of the restaurant's co-founders, who was a former London Bobby (police officer), wanted to open a British pub, and patterned this one after one of his favorites, the Black Swan in Stratford-on-Avon, a pub known by the locals as The Mucky Duck. In addition to the usual pub distractions---ale, beer, darts and the like---the menu has a mix of options. Try the Duck-a-Dillas, duck meat, black beans, veggies and cheese fried in a flour tortilla served with sour cream and homemade salsa. Entrées range from chicken to steak to seafood, with an emphasis on the latter. English fish 'n' chips is also available although it's New England cod lightly breaded and fried and served with french fries. The limited dessert options include the Mucky Duck Surprise, which can vary, and the homemade Mucky Duck Key lime pie---a treat.
