Num Pang Restaurant Review:
A wide variety of Southeast Asian-inflected sandwiches (think chili mayo, pickled carrots, cilantro and cucumber) tempt at this mini chain. Sandwiches are divided into classic banh mi and seasonal specialties with vegetarian as well as meat versions, all served on freshly baked semolina rolls. Vegetable sandwiches are interesting, to say the least, such as the roasted cauliflower with a chili soy eggplant spread or spicy organic tofu. Spiced up mainstream sandwiches like five-spice glazed pork belly, hoisin meatballs or grilled Khmer sausage go well with spicy Cambodian slaw or raw kale and apple salad. For a heartier salad, try the coconut tiger shrimp served on a bed of romaine, cabbage, peppers, sprouts, cilantro and peanuts. Rice bowls and noodle bowls are available, too. Try the super-fresh sweet mango drink or the homemade lemon gingerade. Other locations.
