The Original Pierre Maspero's Restaurant Review:

Exposed brick walls, ancient tile flooring and well-worn pots and pans hanging from the ceiling create an ambience of old, traditional New Orleans at Pierre Maspero’s. Situated on a bustling corner, the place is upscale enough for a dressy evening out, but jeans-and-a-sweater attire is suitable at the bar to watch a Saints game on flat-screen TVs. The bar is also a good spot to take advantage of overloaded Bloody Marys. Specialty dishes include fried or grilled alligator, oyster po' boys, blackened shrimp jambalaya, shrimp and grits and bread pudding with chunks of peaches, raisins and a white chocolate crème anglaise topping. While there are decent wines that will pair with most menu items, the wine list could use some updating. As the building is centrally located to many hotels, it’s a fine breakfast destination (try the andouille sausage and eggs), but be prepared to wait for a table on weekends, sometimes up to an hour.
