Osaka Hibachi Grill & Sushi Bar Restaurant Review:

Avoiding the traditional “zen-like” atmosphere of a typical Japanese restaurant, Osaka Hibachi Grill & Sushi Bar instead presents a more upbeat ambience. Décor is simple and unimaginative, but the sushi chefs keep all eyes on the food. Tempura is a favorite with the suburban crowd, but the crunchy roll and the house's cleverly composed stoplight roll, with its red smelt roe, lemon slice and green roe, appeal as well. The constantly filled seats on Friday and Saturday nights convey the impression that it helps to be the only game in town, even as it says nothing necessarily about the quality of the sushi. Yet, we have to admit, Slidell’s first sushi bar is one of the friendliest places around. As long as you’re dining Japanese, try the bananas tempura or the ice cream tempura for dessert. Wines are limited to Chardonnay and Merlot by the glass or bottle, but the saké runs hot and cold all day and all evening.
