P.F. Chang's China Bistro’s interior doesn't re-create a Chinese ambience, keeping the architecture and décor thoroughly modern. Minimal ambient noise means business lunches and date dining are comfortable. Most dishes would not be found in an authentic Chinese restaurant, but they're satisfying nonetheless. Crescent-shaped dumplings filled with ground pork, chicken, shrimp or vegetables may be either pan-fried or steamed. Orange chicken is a good example, tender and juicy with just a hint of sweetness. Gluten-free dishes are prepared in a separate part of the kitchen, and the team will make adjustments to accommodate dietary needs. Some items reflect the spicy current in Chinese cuisine from the Szechuan tradition. Soups are the usual sort although made from scratch, and the desserts, while tasty, seem out of touch with the rest of the menu; we like the vanilla cake with strawberries and fresh berries. Cocktails are inventive and made with freshly squeezed juices. The wine list has glass-and-a-half pours and many are Asian-fare friendly, such as the J Vineyards Pinot Gris. Beers are good options and so is the variety of hot teas. Happy hour is from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, but at this location only food specials may be offered due to local regulations.
