Pamlico Jack's Restaurant Review:
Pamlico Jack's appeals to the pirate in all of us: children will find plenty to choose from on their menu and will like the overall pirate theme --- from the waiters to the outdoor pirate ship (aka Rumjumper's bar). Adults can sit back and enjoy an Outer Banks sunset from indoor or outdoor seating. Fortunately, the buccaneer theme doesn't detract from a well-rounded menu. Appetizers like fried green tomatoes, conch fritters or lobster mac ‘n’ cheese are a nice change of pace. Local seafood is dominant --- she crab soup, shrimp sauté, seafood platters and daily seasonal specials like soft-shells. Raw or steamed options include shrimp, mussels, crab legs and oysters, all available in months with an “aarrrrrgghh.” Landlubbers will find adobo chicken, flatiron steaks, pasta Alfredo, and several fresh takes on salads. Desserts include a chocolate volcano cake and an ever-changing dessert tray. Outside, Rumjumper's has an abbreviated menu and live music several times a week.
