Pangea Restaurant Review:

Pangea was the huge landmass from the prehistoric era that later broke apart to form the continents we know today. On Second Avenue, a restaurant of the same name has fed hungry night owls and bridge-and-tunnel folk gently tweaked diner grub for twenty years. The name is meant to evoke the global reach of the kitchen, but a little focus would add some zest to the menu. Appetizers include fried calamari served with a chipotle pepper dipping sauce or Tuscan crostini with chicken liver purée, portobello and brandy. For entrées, don't skip the blackened tilapia filet in mango salsa or grilled herbed chicken breast. To best enjoy this eatery, stick with the selection of sandwiches, including the passable burger, or platters of hummus and bruschetta.
