Pappas Bros. Steakhouse Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: For decades, the Pappas’s have been one of the preeminent restaurant families of Houston and their Pappas Bros. Steakhouse is the jewel in the crown. Think old-world elegance, white tablecloths, candlelight and attentive service.
Food & Drinks: There are more than 2,000 bottles of wine in the wine room and stiff cocktails to quench your thirst while nibbling the deviled eggs stuffed with lobster and honey pepper bacon while waiting for the kitchen to prepare your steak. All beef is dry-aged in-house and options range from an eight-ounce filet mignon to a massive bone-in 26-ounce porterhouse. A limited seafood menu includes Australian cold-water rock lobsters and pan-seared sea bass. Sides are typical steakhouse fare, although well executed: au gratin potatoes, creamed spinach and fresh asparagus. Desserts are decadent and the bar is almost always packed with power people and society folk. And do check out the many wine dinners and tastings offered on a regular basis.
