Patisserie 46 Restaurant Review:
Curl up on one of the giant leather armchairs in front of the fireplace with a book, an almond croissant and a cappuccino. Or indulge in house-made gelato (think vanilla caramel) or mango-cilantro sorbet outside on the patio, where neighbors stop to chat. If you didn’t know you were in South Minneapolis, you might mistake the scene for, say, a well-groomed Parisian suburb. With so much gastronomic activity, this intersection has become its own mini-destination, and Patisserie 46 adds a certain je ne sais quoi to the neighborhood vibe. Stay for the scene, but come for the jewel-like pastries: French macaroons, almond financiers, éclairs, and canelés de Bordeaux. (Strong coffee and artisan breads tempt, too.)
