THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Pinewood Restaurant Review:

The Pinewood is known for its class-act mixology, while wines and beers merit less attention. Still, no matter your libation of choice, it's fun to watch the guys at the bar perform their shaking duties with such vigor and drama. Good drinks nibbles include "grits tots" to share. We've also enjoyed cornmeal-dusted oysters and the duck pastrami sliders, both fine starters. The burger ordered rare came closer to well done, but it was still tasty. North Carolina trout is served crispy skin on, a pair of filets crisscrossing the plate and perched atop Sea Island pea Hoppin’ John. Two desserts, beignets and pain perdu, seem more appropriate for breakfast (indeed, the pain perdu appears for brunch); the peanut butter mousse pie on an Oreo crust begs for a cup of Batdorf & Bronson coffee. Lunch brings a number of interesting options, including daily changing chef specials. Wednesday is whiskey night with half-priced cocktails. Get there early as the place gets busy with locals who partake of this midweek treat. The Pinewood took over the adjacent space abandoned when the bicycle shop relocated just up the street. Punching through the wall, the restaurant developed a lounge area and lots of overflow table seating or private space for large gatherings.
