Take the family out for a steak dinner without worrying that you’ll max-out your credit card. Since 1967, Pinnacle Peak has been serving quality mesquite-broiled steaks at down-to-earth prices in an Old Western-style saloon on Route 66, where ties are taboo. In fact, show up in a tie and you’re likely to get it cut off --- the next time you come in, it’ll be hanging from the ceiling! Pinnacle Peak is not Ruth’s Chris or Morton’s, but it doesn’t aspire to be. The steaks are reasonably good and cost a fraction of the prices at high-end chains. A 28-ounce porterhouse is still priced in the low twenties, and many steaks on the menu are solidly in the teens. “Cowboy steak,” cut from the beef short loin, is dry-aged for 21 days, seasoned and grilled over mesquite. A children's menu makes the place even more family-friendly. There’s another location in Colton, and even one in Shanghai, China.
